The Kapiti Skills Centre 'Student Support Worker' is available to work alongside you, your family, community health, social and welfare agencies to ensure your individual social needs are being met.
Description
- Social support will be available to you during training and the transition into employment
- You will be assisted in the development of life skills and personal confidence so you will realise your potential, prepare for meaningful employment, make wise future decisions and contribute to your community
Skills Gained
- A range of educational programmes are available to assist you in overcoming barriers to employment such as dealing with peer pressure, managing change, independent living, managing the use of drugs and alcohol, budgeting advice, WINZ entitlements, parenting
- You will be guided and supported on health, social and welfare issues such as housing, budgeting, relationship difficulties, mental and physical health to ensure you have every opportunity to achieve success
